Based at Great Central Railway in Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Built in 1965.
Numbered D1705 & 47117 at other times.
Built as a prototypical Class 48 (a 47 body with a Sulzer 12LVA24-type engine), it was refitted with a standard engine in 1969.
It was based for most of its working life in Sheffield and ended its career in 1991, and was then purchased for preservation by Pete Waterman for the East Lancashire Railway.
Since 1996 it has been based at Loughborough.
Returned to service in 2018.
Owned by the Type 1 Locomotive Company.
Painted in BR Blue livery with full yellow ends.
Currently stored out of use, awaiting repairs.
