Based at Severn Valley Railway.
Built in April 1918 by George Jackson Churchward at
Swindon Works.
Withdrawn in April 1963.
Purchased from Woodham Brothers in May 1974 & is owned by The 2857 Society.
First steamed in preservation in September 1979.
Returned to service in August 1985, after repairs were completed.
Boiler ticket then expired in December 1994.
Last major overhaul was completed in July 2011.
Boiler ticket expired on 2nd January 2023 along with 1501.
Painted in Great Western Green livery with GWR lettering.
The locomotive appeared in the 2020 film Enola Holmes.
Currently being stripped down for overhaul.
The tender is currently in use behind 7802 Bradley Manor.
Contract for overhaul signed in 2025.
