4079 Pendennis Castle

Based at Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire.
Built in February 1924 by Charles Collett at Swindon Works & after running throughout the 1950’s & 60’s.
Withdrawn in May 1964.
Owned by the Great Western Society.
Previous ran on British soil in early 1977.
Last ran in 1994, when Pendennis Castle was still in Australia.
Repatriated from Australia in 2000 after spending 22 years in the country.
It has a single chimney & a Collett 4000 tender fitted.
Returned to service in February 2022, following overhaul.
Boiler ticket expires in 2031.
Painted in Great Western lined Green livery with Great Western Lettering.
Currently operational.
