Based at Kent & East Sussex Railway.
Built in December 1919 by George Jackson Churchward at Swindon Works & like 4247 & 4248, spent much of it’s career working on china clay goods trains in South Wales & Cornwall.
Withdrawn in September 1962.
Retains original inside steam pipes.
Left Barry in July 1985.
Preserved by Jeremy Hosking & Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for restoration.
Owned by Locomotive Services Ltd.
Last major restoration was completed in 2014.
Boiler expired in late October 2022.
Painted in GWR unlined Green livery.
Stored, awaiting overhaul.
