Built in September 1938 at Crewe by Sir William Stanier.

Numbered 46229 in BR days.

De-streamlined in January 1948.

Withdrawn from service in February 1964.

Owned by the National Railway Museum in York.

First ran in preservation from 1980-1985.

Last major overhaul was completed in 1989.

Boiler ticket expired in 1996.

Painted in LMS Crimson Lake livery.

Currently on static display in the Great Hall.
