Alaskan Yellow Wagtail

Motacilla tschutschensis tschutschensis

Very rare vagrants from North America with the 1st record for Britain in the Winter of 2019-20 at Sedgeford, Norfolk.

Also known as Blue-headed Eastern Yellow Wagtail.

Adult Males have blue head & white stripe through the eye.

Females & Juveniles are dullish yellow.

The call is a characteristic high-pitched zrri or jeet, shriller and more rasping than the call of Western Yellow Wagtails.
