Originally not a British species, this moth was accidentally introduced and appears to be established and expanding its range, mainly nocturnal.
Larvae feeds on various mosses, dead insects, detritus, decaying vegetable matter, also on seedpods of Tree Lupin and Tansy.
Adults are on wing from May to June and again in autumn in the UK.
