We went to Greylake RSPB to look for the Merlin that had been present most of the Winter.

Other birds included Common Teal, Northern Shovelers, Northern Lapwings, Common Snipe, Common Buzzard, Great White Egret, Little Egret, Marsh Harrier, Mallards, Male Bearded Tit, Water Rails, Sparrowhawk & Common Kestrel.

The Female Merlin showed very well from the hides & landed amongst the Wildfowl & on the Kingfisher perch.

The Female made three appearances during our visit, before flying over to hunt around the surrounding fields.

Four Cattle Egrets were feeding in the roadside fields between Burtle & Westhay.

In the late afternoon/early evening, we visited Catcott Lows NNR to see what was about.

The usual Wildfowl such as Northern Shoveler & Eurasian Wigeons were seen regularly in front of Lows Hide & viewing screen.

A Juvenile Peregrine Falcon made an appearance hunting Wildfowl in the evening light.
