We went to Lower Moor Farm NR to look for the Downy Emerald Dragonfly.

We saw 4 recently emerged along the boardwalk. An Adult was resting beside the boardwalk, but sadly had a damaged wing.

We popped along to Whelford Pools, where the Male Ferruginous Duck had been present on pit 111 with the Tufted Duck flock. It showed very distantly from the hide during our visit & remained in the area until 8th May 2024. Also saw a Downy Emerald Dragonfly, Great Crested Grebes & a pair of Red-crested Pochards.

We headed back to Lower Moor Farm NR for another look for the Dragonflies. Another Downy Emerald showed well from the café. Two Cardinal Beetles & Red-eyed Damselfly were seen in the afternoon.
