We went to Savernake Forest to look for the Purple Emperor Butterfly.

A couple of Male Purple Emperors flew high above the trees by the monument, but didn't fly down.

We had better luck on our way back to the car, as a Female Purple Emperor perched on one of the Sallows to lay her eggs on.

We went to Salisbury Plain & saw a couple of Corn Buntings & Skylarks.

Plenty of Insects around the RSPB Winterbourne Downs site in the afternoon.

These included Silver Y Moth, Marbled Whites, Essex Skippers, Meadow Browns, Gatekeepers, Ringlets, Citron Plume Moth, Cinnabar Moth Caterpillars on Ragwort, Female Roesel's bush-cricket, Comma & Scarlet Tiger Moth which I rescued from a Spider's Web.
