We visited to Slimbridge WWT to see what was about.

A Black Swan was on the Rushy Pen with a few Bewick's & Mute Swans.

On the Tack Piece were Ruff, Oystercatchers, Eurasian Wigeon, 2 European Spoonbills, Common Pochards, Tufted Ducks, Northern Pintails, Common Cranes, European White-fronted Geese & a Marsh Harrier flying past.

On the Dumbles from the Estuary Tower, the Ross's Goose was still present with the Barnacle Geese flock but very distant.

Two Little Stints foraged along the edge of Middle Ground Pool.

Around the South Finger area, were Chaffinches, Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Siskin, Great Tits, Blue Tits & Male Common Pheasants.

On the bank along the walkway to the Kingfisher Hide, a Brown Hare was resting in a small wooded area & had been present for 10 days.

A Water Rail showed briefly below the Ziess Hide.

A pair of Common Goldeneye showed very well from the South Lake Discovery Hide.

The 1st Winter European Spoonbill flew from the Tack Piece past the Martin Smith Hide, before landing on the Rushy Pen.

After a few minutes of feeding, it took off again & headed back to South Lake.

On our way home, we saw a Female Roe Deer near Tortworth.

In Horton, the Little Owl was sunning itself in the usual tree.
