We started our day with a visit to Steart Marshes WWT to look for the Least Sandpiper.

There were Common Teal, Eurasian Wigeon, Lapwings & Dunlin. Otterhampton Marsh from the Quantock Hide.

A couple of Little Stints were in with the Dunlin Flock.

The Least Sandpiper was still present & showed very occasionally with the Dunlins, but the flock were jumpy & were constantly flying around.

We then headed to Greylake RSPB to look for the Merlin.

There were plenty of Eurasian Wigeon, Common Teal, Lapwings, Shovelers, Mallard & Common Snipe in front of the Treehouse Hide, but no Merlin.

The Water Rail showed very well along the ditch near the hide.

Also seen from the hide were Common Buzzard & 3 Roe Deer.

A Great White Egret foraged with a Little Egret in the field near the carpark.
