We went to Swansea to see the Hoopoe, which had been present since 1st October.

The bird had been feeding on the on grass east of the Swansea Cenotaph.

We first saw it perched in a tree briefly, before flying down to the dunes.

It continued to show well feeding below the main path amongst the grassy vegetation.

It then flew over to the grassy lawn & fed there for a while, before going to over to the dunes later.

A Female Grey Wagtail foraged near the carpark.

After lunch, we went back to see the Hoopoe.

The bird was still preening & feeding amongst the dune grass.

Later on the Hoopoe stopped feeding & hid in the grass due to a presence of a Sparrowhawk overhead.

Our final port of call was Nash Point to look for the Choughs & we were not disappointed.

Our first sighting was a single bird calling continuously as it fed.

After calling & feeding on the grass by the lighthouse, it flew over & down to the cliff edge.

Later, we saw 3 birds feeding in the evening sunlight on the grass by the carpark.

Afterwards they all flew over to drink from a puddle, before flying off to roost for the night.
