We headed to the Raptor viewpoint in Wykeham Forest in hoping to see some Honey Buzzards. Sadly we saw none, but 2 distant Red Kites. Also saw a Green Long-horn Moth.

On our way to the North Yorkshire Moors, I spotted a Dipper on the river in Thornton-le-Dale

The Adult showed very well most of the morning. A Juvenile showed briefly under the bridge.

Two Grey Wagtails were busy feeding their own young.

We headed to Goathland to see some moorland birds, which included Meadow Pipits, Skylarks & a Male North Wheatear.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway runs through this part of the National Park from Grosmont to Pickering. We saw 80136 working the dining service to Pickering & 47077 North Star heading a service train to Grosmont from our vantage point passing Moorgates.

Also near Goathland, we saw a flock of Golden Plovers in a roadside field.

On Newton Moor, were a few Red Grouse & plenty of Male Emperor Moths on the wing.

We headed to Pickering, to see 2392 pass through with the last Steam service of the day from Grosmont at New Bridge crossing.

Finally, on our way back to Flamborough we popped back into Thornton-le-Dale. Both Adult & Juvenile Dippers showed very well in the early evening sunlight.
