Merops persicus
Very rare vagrants from the Middle East with 15 records for Britain from Summer-Autumn.
Breeds in Morocco, North Africa.
Rare vagrants also reached as far north as Spain & France.
Adults are predominantly green; its face has blue sides with a black eye stripe, and a yellow and brown throat; the beak is black.
Juveniles lack the blue sides to it's face.
The call sounds 'flatter' and less 'fluty' than the European bee-eater.
