Brown Booby

Sula leucogaster

Very rare vagrant from the Cape Verde Islands to Britain.

First recorded in 2019 at St Ives, Cornwall.

Adults are grey-brown with darkening on the head, upper surfaces of the wings and tail, while the lower breast and underpart plumages are heavily flecked brown on white.

Juveniles plumage already resembles that of the Adult.
