Rare & regular vagrants from North America with 10-60 per year in Britain & 500 records for Ireland, mostly in the Autumn.
Some also occur during the May-June period.
They are still very rare vagrants to Mainland Europe.
Adults are brown above and has a buff face and underparts in all plumages.
It has a short bill and yellow legs.
Males are larger than Females.
Juveniles resemble the Adults but may be paler on the rear underparts & brighter.
