Common Marble aka Dark Strawberry Totrix
Very common species throughout Britain, mainly nocturnal.
The Caterpillars can reach a length of about 15 millimetres (0.59 in) and are coloured brown to dark brown.
The Larvae feed on a wide variety of herbaceous plants.
The forewings show various shades of grey brown crossed by a few thin irregular silvery lines.
The Adult Moths are active at dusk & fly from May-August.
