Very common Summer visitors, mostly in March-October with 750,000 breeding pairs in Britain plus 30,000 birds in Ireland.
Mainly winters in Africa & the Mediterranean, some winter in Western Europe including Britain.
Also breeds in mainland Europe.
Adults have as brown-washed dull green upperparts, off-white underparts becoming yellowish on the flanks, and a short whitish supercilium.
It has dark legs, a fine dark bill.
Juveniles are duller than Adults.
The song is a repetitive cheerful chiff-chaff.
The call is a hweet, less disyllabic than the hooeet of the Willow Warbler or hu-it of the Western Bonelli's Warbler.
