Confined to Mainland Europe, including France, Spain & Portugal.
Regular vagrant to Britain.
The Larvae feeds on wild carrot (Daucus carota), wild angelica (Angelica sylvestris), fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), and hogweeds (Heracleum).
Similar in appearance to the British subspecies.
Flight period is from April-September.
