Phalacrocrax aristotelis
Locally common coastal resident of 32,000 pairs breed in Britain plus 110,000 in Winter.
Rare inland.
Formerly known as Green Cormorant.
Adults have a greenish gloss in good light, but dark in poor light.
They also have a suggestion of a crest, which Cormorants lack.
The flight of this species resembles a Duck rather a Goose.
Juveniles are browner than the Adults & sometimes have shorter crest.
They also have darker underparts.
The call are a mixed of grunts & goans.
