Common Foxglove

Digitalis purpurea

Common & widespread throughout Britain.

The leaves are simple, spirally arranged, and covered with pubescent and glandular hairs that give them a woolly texture.

Flowers are borne in elongated terminal clusters and are tubular and pendent in form, typically purple in color with spotted inner surfaces.

The fruit is a capsule containing numerous small seeds.

Flowers from June-September.
