Greenland White-fronted Goose

Anser albifrons flavirostris

Very rare Winter Visitors & declining in parts of Scotland, Wales & Ireland.

Breeds in Greenland.

Adults are much darker overall, with only a very narrow white tip to the tail (broader on the other subspecies), more black barring on its belly and usually has an orange (not pink) bill.

Juveniles lack the back belly bars & white-fronts, so could be mistaken for a Bean Goose but usually are with the Adult birds.

In flight, they show a grey panel in the wings like the next species Greylag Geese.
