Lepus timidus hibernicus
This subspecies of the Mountain Hare occurs only in Ireland & the Isle of Mull.
Lepus timidus hibernicus is smaller in size and stays brown all year.
The Irish Hare may also have a "golden" variation, particularly those found on Rathlin Island.
