Hepialus sylvina
Common in Britain, mainly nocturnal.
Larval foodplant is various plant roots underground.
Males have rich orange forewings with two white bars forming a "V" shape.
The hindwings are dark brown.
Female is similar but generally larger and less brightly coloured.
Flight period is slightly later than the Common Swift, being from June-September & are attracted to light.
