Reed Bunting

Locally common residents of 185,000 in Britain plus 220,000 birds in Ireland & migrant.

Also breeds in mainland Europe & North Africa.

Males have a black head and throat, white neck collar and underparts, and a heavily barred brown back.

Females are much duller, with a streaked brown head, and more barring underneath.

The Male's song is a repetitive srip.
