Tundra Bean Goose

Anser fabalis serrirostris

Breeds in the Tundra zone of Siberia.

Scarce Winter Visitors to Britain, mainly to Norfolk from November-March.

Also winters in Holland & Denmark.

Rare in Summer.

The bill is black at the base and tip, with an orange band across the middle; the legs and feet are also bright orange.

The flight is similar to Pink-footed Geese.

The call is the best way to tell them apart, which has a loud honking, higher pitched qualtiy.
