Locally common resident of 46,000 birds, many of which are feral stock. 225,000 Winter in Britain.

Also in Continental Europe, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland & the Baltic states.

This is the only grey Goose that nests in Britain.

Adults are mainly grey with a orange bill & legs.

They also have a grey panel in the wing, which is seen in flight.

Juveniles have a duller bill than Adults.

The call is a tyipcal farmyard/domestic Goose "aahng-ung-ung", uttered on the ground or in flight.
