There are now 60 pairs of White-tailed Sea Eagles in North West Scotland & Ireland.
Rare migrant.
Reintroduced to the Isle of Wight in 2020.
Also breeds in North West Iceland & North East Europe
In winter some move to Northern France & Southern Europe.
Adults have mainly brown plumage with pale head, white tail hence the name & yellow bill & legs.
Juveniles browner on the head than Adults & they lack the white tail.
They have a "sky pointing" or "long calling" by throwing their head back display during the Breeding season.
In flight, they have the biggest wing span, so they have been know as "the flying barn door".
